The Teeth

“There aren’t many who saw them putting up the fences, or the walls, in the weeks following the storm. It wasn’t until later, when the muddy waters began to recede, and the survivors started trying to piece their lives back together, that we learned about the radiation. They said there had been complications, meltdowns, that half of the country was no longer safe, that everything north of the Teeth was already dead and gone. They had drawn the Lines.

Anybody that’s crossed that yellow-black threshold, in all the years since the storm tore our sense of stability apart, never came back. Still, though, there are those that itch to catch a glimpse of the lands beyond the Line, and the Teeth, to see for themselves the truth of what became of our world. 

Not many saw the construction of the Lines after the storm. 

A few, however, claim to have seen some of those fences and walls being put up quite some time before the storm began.”

More environment practice, this time directly related to my graphic novel/story “Floating World”. Definitely the best environment I’ve ever done, with a character in there to boot! Lots more learning and practice to go, but I’m happy to see improvement.
